Advisory: Ron Paul Will Not Seek the LIbertarian Nomination
Republican Ron Paul has REJECTED the Libertarian National Committee’s invitation to run for the Libertarian nomination if he fails to be nominated by the GOP.
«»Ron has no intention to run third party whatsoever,» said Ron Paul’s spokesman.
This rejection comes within one day of the LNC’s resolution proposed by Bob Barr not only to invite the Republican to vie for the Presidential nomination against Libertarian candidates but to grant his campaign access to BallotBase, a system paid for by the Libertarian Party for the use of Libertarian candidates. Both decisions were passed unanimously by the committee, but some Libertarians believe the resolutions to be in conflict with the committee’s responsibilities to the party according to the by-laws.
