Ever since Capello was chosen by the FA as Coach of the English National Team, there have been questions on the streets of Miami Florida as to his ability and capacity. Every day on the Streets of Miami Florida, the Television and Radio that give the sports news ask the same questions in the same vein as a gossip columnist. The TV Viewers ask the same questions.
The worst comments come from the English Speaking Television Stations in the USA who say how can Capello coach a team «if he does not speak the language?» After hearing this comment from these stations and even some of the Spanish Speaking Stations, the time has come to respond as I am angered. The Media in the United States [especially the Sports Media] suffers from an inferiority complex hidden behind a mask of superiority.
The Media in the United States always tells the world that they are the experts in everything. For the Media in the United States I have something to tell you, English Speaking Media such as the BBC, NHK [Japan], CRI [China], and even Press TV speaks better English than you and can explain sports [including football of course] more that what you could explain.
While I am aware that I watch my matches while waiting for Miami FC to start their season, I tell the people my opinion from what I watch and hear. The Mainstream Media in the USA are also recent converts because of the money compared to many people [myself included] who loves football and have loved it. [I have had football fever since 1973 at age 11].
After talking about the media, it is time to comment about the language and the expertise of Capello. Capello is already learning English but even then football is a universal language. Deng Xioping [One of the Leaders Of China] once said «Who cares about the Colour of a Cat as long as the Cat Catches Mice». The Nationality and Linguistic Values of a Coach is not important if the team wins games.
Capello has had experience in International Football in Italy and Spain. He played football and coached the teams. He was also a television presenter for RAI Television [Italy] in football. Capello has suffered from Real Madrid by being fired after helping the team win a title.
Capello should be given a chance to lead the English National Team and it should be the decision of the FA whether he stays or go. For the Mainstream Media in the USA, they should stand down and find people who are experts in their specialties.
