Wexler has registered WexlerWantsHearings.com, a website which over 140,000 people have joined to demand an impeachment hearing for the US Vice President.

«When Congress reconvenes in January, I plan to present a list to my Judiciary Committee colleagues of every single person that signed up,» the Democrat said in a statement published on Afterdowningstreet.org.

The Florida Democrat claims the mainstream media is awakening thanks to the movement and the extraordinary support people have shown.

«Our Constitution mandates that the House of Representatives hold presidents and vice presidents accountable when they commit high crimes,» says Wexler.

According to the congressman, the charges against Cheney relate to his deceptive actions leading to the Iraq invasion, the revelation of the identity of a secret agent for political retaliation and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens.
