Response to the Latest Press Release from Phillies 2008

I would like to congratulate Libertarian Presidential Candidate George Phillies for standing up to the special interest groups including the Ron Paul Camp. The fact that a member of the Ron Paul Camp would pay a candidate to silence that candidate or to force him or her to make a statement in favor of a certain candidate says a lot about the state of the Union.

As a member of the Libertarian Party, I have been told many times by the people in Miami Florida where I live that a vote for George Phillies and the Libertarian Party is a wasted vote. I have been told many times that a vote for the Republicans and Democrats is the way to go. I have also been told that things will always remain the same.

My response has been that if the Libertarian Party and George Phillies are a wasted vote, why the mainstream media ignore all Libertarians? Why does the Mainstream Media even ignore Ron Paul [even though he is a Republican]? The Mainstream Media is afraid of the truth.

There were people who heard George Phillies on You Tube and then told me “I cannot understand how you can support a College Professor for President”. My response has been to use the quotation by the late Chinese Leader Deng Xioping: “It does not matter the appearance of a cat as long as it catches mice” and then I tell them that Phillies wants to save American Jobs, American Lives, and America from becoming a place where dictatorships and civil wars could thrive.

This sort of attitude has reinforced my support for George Phillies, the Libertarian Party, and the need for America on the road to Peace, Freedom, Responsibility, Dignity, and Sanity. I support George Phillies, the Libertarian Party, and their program of no more foreign commitments [Iraq, Korea, Afghanistan, and the United Nations].  I support George Phillies and the Libertarian Party because of their program of putting America First. Whether George Phillies Wins or Not is another issue. What I know is that George Phillies is the key to the salvation of America. His wisdom and knowledge is something that America needs.

I myself was a Republican during the Reagan Years and left it when George Bush I became President in 1989. To be precise, it was on Christmas Eve 1989. The television in the kitchen during Christmas Eve Dinner was showing the Romanian Revolution of 1989.   Of all the family that was there, my uncle and aunt who were visiting from Cuba was at the dinner table. There were also two distant relatives one a Republican and one a Democrat. The Republican and Democrat stated that “Our business is falling with the Romanian Revolution. We did not like Communism but we were making deals with them and that was our living. Don’t think that when Castro falls, you will be going to Cuba”.

I got out of the chair and declared my independence from the Republican Party and made a toast. My toast was that if Castro were to fall, that the Republicans and Democrats be replaced by Independents or Libertarians. Everyone was shocked except my uncle and aunt. They screamed: “More power to you Roberto”.

I later found out that when they returned to Cuba, they talked about my Declaration of Independence. The reaction in Cuba was one of support although they did not know what was an Independent or a Libertarian.

After a journey with the Party of Ross Perot and Jesse Ventura, I made the conversion to the Libertarian Party in 2001. This conversion was reinforced by the Restoration of Chavez in 2002 by Bush, the War in Iraq, and the polarization that followed in the American Continent including the USA.

George Phillies and the Libertarian Party have my support in this year and always. Is it ideology? No, I support them because Phillies and the Libertarian Party have another meaning: Common Sense.

I would like extend my wishes to the great George Phillies and Libertarian Family that is my family as well from the Fun Capital of the World: Miami Florida.

Good Day and God Bless.
