Many people think of the Kurds in Iraq and associate them with the horrors that they lived under the Saddam Hussein Government. Others think of the Kurdish Areas of Iraq, and they think of the cross border raids within their areas. The time has come to talk about the Kurds in a different light, sports especially football [soccer].
The Kurd Stars FC is the only Kurdish Club to officially belong to the London FA League. Actually, The Kurd Stars FC belong to the West End London AFA Sunday PM Premier Division. In the present 2007-2008 season as of the statistics of the 15th of January 2008, there were four victories, three drawn games, and seven lost with 22 goals for, 22 goals against, and a seven point difference.

In addition to raising awareness of Kurdish Football, they have helped clubs in the Kurdish Areas of Iraq form their own football teams and have sent sports experts and coaches to Iraqi Kurdistan to help train future players,
After impressive gains, there was progress when Mr. Sarkhell Nawroly met with Mr. Safin Kanabi (Head of Kurdistan FA – in Kurdistan Of Iraq) with the intention of creating and expanding contacts between Europe and Kurdistan. It is hoped that eventually, the Kurd Stars FC will be able to compete in the Olympics and in the FIFA World Cup. While this is happening, the fame of Kurd Stars FC is expanding in all of the four corners of the world.
I personally hope and have written an E Mail letter for this purpose that the Kurd Stars FC would come to Miami Florida and play the Miami FC in Tropical Park [a place in Miami Florida where the Miami FC have their home].
