On the 5th of March 2008 in a stadium in Shanghai China, The Los Angeles Galaxy played one of their preseason games against Shanghai Hongkong United. It was a game that defied all of the expectations and in the home country of Shanghai Hongkong United. All of the glory should go to Carlos Ruiz and also to David Beckham as both were instrumental in the victory.
Carlos Ruiz started the game with the first goal and with the Los Angeles Galaxy in possession of the ball and the game while Shanghai United attempted to equalize but without success. Carlos Ruiz drove a stake through the ambitions of Shanghai United with a second goal as Shanghai looked at what was happening. It also appeared that the people of Shanghai China and China as a whole did not like the idea of their home team losing to the visitor. No team and no city loves that but everyone has their way of dealing with such a situation.
While Capello has announced that Beckham may not play in England, he was able to prove that he still has some power left by helping Carlos Ruiz score a third and final goal which was the equivalent of “turn off the lights it is over” even though Shanghai United attempted to fight on and avoid what was the inevitable. While Beckham participated and was able to help Carlos Ruiz, he received a minor injury to his right thigh. Beckham [according to Los Angeles Galaxy Spokespeople] will be expected to make a speedy recovery.
I am content with the performance of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Carlos Ruiz. I am also content with the performance of David Beckham and it is hoped that the United States will see more victories from the Los Angeles Galaxy, Carlos Ruiz, and David Beckham. It appears that we will be seeing more of the three in the upcoming season. I would also like to add Landon Donovan to the people to be seen in the Los Angeles Galaxy. Only time will tell how the Los Angeles Galaxy is doing since MLSnet.com has reported that the Houston Dynamo is the most organized team in Major League Soccer [MLS].
