The football [soccer] game of the MLS [Major League Soccer] between the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Toronto FC was played on the 13th of April 2008 at Home Depot Center live from Carson, California. The game was transmitted live by Telefutura [A US Latin Station which is the sister station of Univision]. The game in itself was a box of surprises.
FIRST HALF
The game started with both teams facing each other and vying for possession of the game. Both teams were measuring the strength and weakness of the other. It continued this way until Dichio scored the first goal with a little help from Amado Guevara at forty two minutes. Landon Donovan responded with the body language of “Not So Quick” and scored an equalizer for the Los Angeles Galaxy at forty three minutes. The first half ended with a draw of Los Angeles Galaxy 1-1 Toronto FC.
SECOND HALF
The Second Half was many times better and exciting than the first half. It was characterized by the intensity of both teams to win. The first mistake was made by the Los Angeles Galaxy at fifty two minutes when Varney received a booking for unprofessional behaviour followed by a goal by Smith at fifty three minutes. Smith provided proof of how to use your head in football [soccer]. Regardless, Donovan scored an equalizer secondary to a penalty kick at fifty eight minutes and the game became a war of nerves as both teams struggled to score the winning goal. The attempts of both teams to substitute players in order to obtain better results were unsuccessful. Finally, Cunningham surprised the Los Angeles Galaxy and the people who were watching the game with a right kick towards the left side of the net in order to score a goal at eighty eight minutes. After that, it was all over.
REFLECTIONS
In spite of the presence of Beckham, The Los Angeles Galaxy was unable to defend itself at its home stadium. The Los Angeles Galaxy made many mistakes that allowed the Toronto FC to score such as the goalkeeper not making eye contact with the ball or not being adequately prepared to block the ball from scoring. Toronto FC was able to play one of its greatest games with Cunningham being named the Principal Player in this game with his last moment goal. My congratulations are for Cunningham and the Toronto FC.
Los Angeles Galaxy 2-3 Toronto FC
Principal Player: Cunningham
Los Angeles Galaxy: 3/10
Toronto FC: 7/10
