CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER STRONGLY CONDEMNS VIOLENCE IN FOOTBALL STADIUMS AND SCHOOLS
Belgrade, 16 April 2008 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II issued a statement today regarding the death of 26 year old Dejan Dimitrijevic who was shot dead by rival football fans.
«I was shocked when I heard the news that another young life, the most precious resource we have, was lost. Recently, one of our pupils died after he was stabbed to death in front of the schoolyard. I strongly condemn violence of any kind. I am also very concerned that there is an increase of felonies committed by youth in our society. I know we have suffered so much as a society, but there is no justification for violence.
We must have tolerance, whether it is in the political arena, in schools, or in football stadiums. We can not afford to lose the lives of our young people anymore», concluded the Crown Prince
