More Arrests in Zimbabwe

The Government of Zimbabwe has arrested more than 50 MDC Sympathizers after the strike and has acquitted Barry Bearak of the New York Times and British Freelance Reporter Stephan Bevan. Meanwhile, MDC General Secretary Tendai Biti reported the death of two activists and the hospitalization of more than 200 secondary to being assaulted by ZANU-PF [Mugabe] Militias. France, Great Britain, and the United States want to discuss the Zimbabwe Situation before the UN in a special session concerning Africa. Unfortunately, the Special Chairperson of the session is the South African President Mbeki who refuses to discuss Zimbabwe in spite of pressure from his ruling ANC [African National Congress] Party.
