A couple of days ago, Mario Diaz-Balart went on Spanish-language television and  said that Joe Garcia and other Democratic candidates for Congress represent “the interests of the Castro
regime.»  He may  have gotten away with this kind of garbage
in the past because too many so-called leaders in our community
let these kinds of claims go unchallenged. It’s time for that to end.

It’s time for a change in Washington and here in South Florida, too.

Mario Diaz-Balart’s ridiculous allegations that Joe Garcia and other
Democratic candidates for Congress are Castro-sympathizers are
not even the worst of it.  He’s coupled that with a whisper campaign
accusing our campaign of being financed by Venezuelan dictator,
Hugo Chavez!  No, I am not kidding.

Meanwhile, he’s accepting tens of thousands of dollars from companies.
It’s the height of hypocrisy in politics and an example of why people
don’t trust Washington politicians.  He thinks he can get away with it and
that no one will step up and fight back.
