Barr & USA Finance Crisis

As this is written, it is late on a very busy Tuesday for my campaign.  Yesterday we moved into a new campaign headquarters here in Atlanta and it is already bustling with activity.

It is genuinely gratifying to see so many young, enthusiastic supporters helping get out our message of more liberty, more freedom, less government!

Many Americans have been paying close attention to the housing loan situation that has caused the FDIC to close one bank and the federal treasury (that means YOUR tax dollars) to prop up the two government-backed organizations known as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Yesterday I was on Fox News’ «Your World with Neil Cavuto» and I said that first and foremost we need to protect tax payer interests.  Government intervention in the free market is to blame for the problem.  The long term solution is a complete overhaul of how our federal financial systems operate.

Don’t look for the Democrats or Republicans to tackle the root of this problem.

Because THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.

When the programs of big government fail – and they always do – both parties run out to propose still more programs.  You and I know that this is not the answer.

As election day gets closer, watch for more financial difficulties and you’ll also see that there is virtually no difference in how Senators Obama and McCain propose to solve this problem. Watch the broadcast for yourself.

Meanwhile, I wish I could report today that our project to get on the ballot in West Virginia was over and a complete success. It is not.  I remain confident that we will get on the ballot there, but we still need help.

In response to my appeal on Friday, we received many generous gifts, but we are still short of the $45,000 goal we have.  If there is a way you could spare $25 or $50, or maybe even $100 or $250 to give us an added boost at this time, it would be greatly appreciated.  You contribution in whatever amount you can afford will help me change the «business as usual» way Washington does things.

Please, let me hear from you today.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Bob Barr
