Do people ever ask you why you are supporting a particular candidate for President?

I hope they do. And when that happens, I suspect you say that it is because of the stands on issues taken by the candidates you support. As you know, the issues in the coming election are numerous and complex.

I trust that your interest and support for my campaign is based on the clear and principled positions I take on issues of importance to you and our nation. I believe that if your family, friends and neighbors were to become fully aware of all the issues and where I stand on them, I would win most of their votes.

Everywhere I go in this great nation I hear from people like you who are concerned with the direction our country is headed. They know that neither the Republicans nor Democrats are going to do anything different to fix our broken economy, lower gasoline prices and bring our troops home.

They recognize that for us to continue prosperously and freely in the 21st century, we need bold new leadership committed to reducing the size of government, lowering taxes and protecting the liberty we cherish.

Senators Obama and McCain are not the answer.

The rhetoric they repeat like a broken record is filled with fluff and spin. When you cut past the pretty icing they cover their speeches in, you find that there is no cake.

In many ways, our campaign is different. You have my promise to address all the issues and to refrain from negative personal attacks and mind-numbing political spin.
