I have heard the song «Before He Cheats» which was interpreted by Carrie Underwood. I have also heard of Carrie Underwood and the fact that she won an award in the mediocre television programme called American Idol. As a US Citizen by birth and currently living in the USA, it is surreal that a country that prides itself on entertainment prefers the fast food, takeaway, and disposable type of pre fabricated music to the true American Entertainment that is present but never appreciated such as the artists that appear in Radio Free Texas or singers such as Nil Lara.
Carrie Underwood is a symbol of what has gone wrong in American Entertainment. Her songs as well the music churned out today by other artists is nothing more than a cheap shot at the institutions of marriage and family. Hollywood and their so called stars like Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, and Marc Antony would have people believe that men cheat on an hourly basis, that women must be satisfied sexually or they have the right to dump their husband and boyfriends, and that men must be around 24 hours, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year [which is close to impossible taking into account the fact that men as well as women have two jobs in order to bring food and clothing to the family].
«Before He Cheats» is another example of such music based on false accusations. While there are women and men who cheat on their significant other, «Before He Cheats» harps on the dominant society in America and the false accusation that all men and women cheat. «Before He Cheats» as well as other products of Hollywood have a tendency to look down on families while at the same time condemning anything that does not agree with them. At least, there is a population within the United States of America who is saying they have enough and turned off Carrie Underwood and others in favour of real talent from Radio Free Texas and other independent music. Hollywood and Nashville at times have been isolated from the true American People. It is like the big industries live in one country and their listeners are living in another country.
«Before He Cheats» deserves a one out of ten in my book for being the worst song with the worst lyrics in the world. «Before He Cheats» deserves a one of ten in my book for promoting division in the family and false accusations. «Before He Cheats» deserves a one out of ten for being a product of a music industry that puts profits before talent. Carrie Underwood also deserves a one out of ten for a terrible and agonizing performance in this song as well as in American Idol and in all of the albums she has released. If I had to choose between Radio Free Texas and Carrie Underwood, I prefer Radio Free Texas including the song by Amanda Hutchinson with the title: «I’m a Bad Ass Woman» which in my opinion is gutsy and was recorded as a response three decades later to the song «American Woman» by the Guess Who.
