Beijing Olympics 2008 [Reflection from Miami Florida]

Welcome to another segment of special reports about the Beijing Olympics in Miami, Florida. These will be reports that involve the neighborhoods in Miami, Florida and their reaction to the Beijing Olympics 2008.

I. Al Rojo Vivo

“Al Rojo Vivo’ is a programme transmitted by US Latin Station called Telemundo. Telemundo is an afíliate of the US Media Conglomerate NBC [National Broadcasting Corporation] and Universal. The moderador is Maria Celeste Arraras who is one of the best journalists in Miami Florida, the United States of America, and the American Continent. Unfortunatly, there was a segment dedicated to a so called mystic called “El Brujo Mayor”. “El Brujo Mayor” which in English is the Grand Warlock supposedly posesses power far more than the average person but in my personal opinión is a mixture of the occult, the superstitious, and the eternally ridiculous.

El Brujo Mayor dared to make predictions that defied logic and insulted the People’s Republic of China. He predicted that the weather and other natural disasters will affect the games. Every country in the World undergoes disasters such as Earthquakes and Typhoons [Hurricanes in the Americas]. The Mystics of today in their majority should not even make ridiculous predictions which may not be fulfilled. NBC, Telemundo, and

Al Rojo Vivo should make a formal apology to China since they are covering the Beijing Olympics for the USA. NBC, Telemundo, and Al Rojo Vivo should also put a Disclaimers which states that the opinions expressed do not reflect the station and show. By not doing this, they are actually agreeing with “El Brujo Mayor”.

While NBC and Telemundo sorts things out, I will be watching the Olympics in the Internet or listening to i ton my shortwave radio. My stations of Choice will be CRI [China Radio International] and CCTV [China Central Television].

II. Think before doing

I heard NHK World on my Shortwave Radio on the night of the 6th of August 2008. Many times when the computer fails, the shortwave radio is there for the latest news. It involved four US Citizens and four British Subjects who were expelled from China for agitation and defamation of China. For tourists visiting China, my advine is to enjoy the Olympics and refrían from mixing politics with Sports.

III. Positive Aspects of the Beijing Olympics.

I heard NHK World commenting about the Olympic Events and the Opening of the Beijing Olympics. There were reports about Japanese Athletes that will be competing. CRI English included in its transmission a special about the Beijing Olympics which included Yao Ming being elected to carry the flag, the torch relay around the areas of Beijing.

Peter Ueberoth of the United States Olympic Committee was interviewed by CRI English. Mr. Ueberoth expressed faith that the Beijing Olympics is going to be a success. Mr. Ueberoth based his reasons in the fact that the Chinese Nation was able to organize the venues and infrastructire as well as making sure that there was no pollution or contaminants in the environment. Mr. Ueberoth was also impressed with the family oriented and friendly attitude of the Chinese People and the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Ueberoth also stated that he was content with the advanced state of the art buildings such as the International Broadcasting Centre, the Qingdao Olympic Quarters. Mr Ueberoth was also content with the state of the art technology.

As I was listening to CRI English, I was thinking of the time I visited the People’s Republic of China. The people were nice and helpful especially in the Great Wall of China [when I was supported in my Desire to climb one of the tops of the mountains of the Great Wall], the Great Hall of the People [where I accepted my Olympic Award to the applause of the public], the Forbidden Palace, Temple of Heaven [where I dressed as an Emperor], and the great friends I made in China.

With less than a day before the innauguration of the Beijing Olympics, I wish nothing more and nothing less than a great successful Olympics for the People’s Republic of China and the World.
