Kaka & Roberto Carlos: A Personal Sports Opinion

While Brazil did not win Gold Medals in the Beijing Summer Olympics of 2008, it is still a powerhouse that can possibly win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Pele may be the inspiration for the football [soccer] of today but there are many greats in football [soccer] such as Diego Alves [Goalkeeper], and Strikers such as Ronaldinho, Rafael Sobis, Bobo, Vagner Love. The Brazilian National Football [Soccer] Team also has Midfielders such as Mineiro, Thiago Neves, Richarlyson, and Gilberto Silva as well as Defenders such as Marcelo, Henrique, Leo, Alex, Luisao, Breno, Lucio, and Leonardo Moura. Who cannot forget personalities such as Roberto Carlos and Kaka? It is these personalities as well as the attitude of Brazil toward its team that has helped the Brazilian Football [Soccer] Team.

Kaka is a great example of Brazilian Football [Soccer] off as well as on the field. Kaka was born in Brasilia, Brazil in 1982 and moved to Sao Paulo in his youth. He was discovered and played for the Sao Paulo FC from 2001 to 2003 with 23 goals within 59 appearances before being signed by AC Milan Owner Silvio Berlusconi. In AC Milan, he scored 54 goals in 162 appearances. His presence in the National Team of Brazil resulted in 22 goals within 59 appearances. Kaka is also a devout Christian who reads the Bible and loves Gospel Music. Kaka also formed the organization Athletes for Christ in order to promote the awareness of Christ in Football [Soccer] and other sports. Kaka also donates part of his salary to his Church.

Roberto Carlos who was born in Sao Paulo in 1973 was able to take the team to the finals in the 1998 World Cup held in France and victory in the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan. Roberto Carlos was also the second place winner behind fellow countryman Ronaldo of the 1997 FIFA World Player of the Year. Pele named the wingback as one of the 125 greatest footballers. Roberto Carlos managed to score 69 goals in 546 appearances when he played for Uniao Sao Joao, Palmeiras, Internazionale, Real Madrid, and Fenebahce. Roberto Carlos also a recipient of the Bronze Medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia and scored 31 goals out of 125 appearances within the years 1992 to 2006 for the Brazilian National Football [Soccer] Team. Roberto Carlos is also the recipient of the International Cup and UEFA Championship League Trophies.

It appears that the newest chapter in the history of Brazilian Football [Soccer] is being written in the twenty first century. I am willing to predict a glorious future for Brazilian Football [Soccer].
