Thank You America Teve 41 and the City of Miami

While Hurricane Ike left tremendous damage on the island of Cuba and the people in power debating on what to do, a TV Station in Miami Florida decided that something had to be done. America Teve Canal 41 [which is a TV Station in Hialeah Gardens, Florida] in collaboration with the Charity Organizations of the major religions, and businesses collaborated in what was one of the biggest telethons of the history of America Teve Canal 41 and Miami Florida.

For one night, the personalities of America Teve Canal 41 such as Maria Laria, Yossie Galindo, Carlos Otero, Bonko were receiving telephone calls as well as reporting on the amount of people who were collaborating with their donations. Oscar Haza [who is the host of the nightly political show of America Teve Canal 41] urged people to donate with the presence of people such as Father Estevez and Father Agustin Roman of the Roman Catholic Church and owners of businesses such as Sedano Supermarket. The performances by the various artists such as Isaac Delgado, and Roberto Torres did a lot to help the cause of Cuba and my heart was beating when I heard the traditional Cuban Music from these remarkable artists. One of the stars made a plea from the parking lot for people to donate and help.

There was testimony from people inside Cuba who dared to watch the telethon including employees of the ICRT [Institute of Cuban Radio and Television] and gave thanks to the Latin Community in Miami Florida. There were other calls from people inside Cuba who talked about the devastation in their hometowns while film clips from Cuban Television showed the devastation of Ike in Cuba. No one could have escaped the devastation and there had to be more victims than officially reported. I could not remain silent nor could US Latins be silent. Many went to the studios of America Teve and left food, hygienic products, and even money. The total that was collected for the victims of Hurricane Ike by people without regard to government was almost One Million Dollars.

America Teve Canal 41 deserves praise for its humanitarian gesture and work to help the people of Cuba without regard to the politics and the government. After all, people are people and they deserve to live. People have a right to be free from their pain and suffering. People have a right to a roof over their house, food, and even to have electricity. It is with these words that I dedicate my article to America Teve Canal 41 and the people of my city of Miami, Florida.

  1. ME GUSTARIA QUE EL CANAL 41 AMERICA TEVE TRAJERA A MIAMI O HICIERA UNA ENTREVISTA CON EL CANDIDATO QUE ESTA CORRIENDO EN VENEZUELA. «CAPLILES» EN EL PROGRAMA DE «A MANO LIMPIA», HAY UN CANAL QUE CREO QUE ES EL 51 QUE TAMBIEN LO ESTA ENTREVISTANDO.
PERO A MI ME GUSTARIA UNA ENTREVISTA EN DIRECTO QUE PUEDAN HABLARLE Y QUE CONTESTE COMO EN EL PROGRAMA DE «A MANO LIMPIA»
