In the NFL Season of 2007, the Miami Dolphins were the tail end of jokes with a demoralized team, a coach who was not winning the games, a fan base that was depressed, and only one game won. Bill Parcells also known as The Tuna was called to rescue the Fins in the same way that he rescued the Patriots and the Jets. The end result was a total reorganization of the team which left no stone unturned. The coach and other football players were fired, forced to resign, or transferred to other teams. The NFL Season of 2008, started with Tony Sparano as the new coach and it appeared that everything was going to be the same. Who could not forget how the Miami Dolphins lost their first two games to the New York Jets and the Arizona Cardinals? While everything appeared to be lost, the Fins surprised everyone by defeating the New England Patriots and the San Diego Chargers. The mood in Miami turned somber with the loss to the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.
The Fins appear to be embarking on the right track after their victory over the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks. What is happening to Miami that the future appears bright? Is there someone in the Miami Organization that has been reading what sports writers including those of the Bleacher Report have been writing? Is it true that the Fins may have heard and followed the advice of the pundits?
What is behind the rebirth of the Miami Dolphins is more than just a passing fad. The Fins are becoming an NFL Team after many years in the wilderness secondary to the effects of the changes in the administrative realm as well as the athletes. The Fins have also changed their morale from negative to positive and embarked on teamwork, discipline, tenacity, and hard work. It cannot be denied that the athletes who have been instrumental in breathing life into a team that almost died were Pennington, Ginn, and Williams.
It appears that the three have been instrumental in the recent victories of the Fins. It remains to be seen whether the team can hold on until the end of the regular season. There is the possibility that Miami can become a Wild Card Player. Maybe the Miami Dolphins will or will not be a wild card but at least the 2008 NFL Season is sweet revenge after the 2007 NFL Season
