Roberto Carlos Alvarez Galloso and CRI English [Forever Friends]

 

The Theme of the Beijing Olympics of 2008 was the theme song «Forever Friends». The same has applied to this humble listener and CRI English throughout the times.  

 

I have been a regular listener since the age of eight in 1970 at a time when the USA and China did not have diplomatic relations. I also started to listen to the Spanish Service in 1977. In addition to listening and writing reception reports for CRI [previously Radio Peking and Radio Beijing], I have been promoting CRI and the People’s Republic of China against the distortions of a group of Western Media that continues to misinform the general public.

 

It did not occur after returning to China that a battle for the truth would surface before the Summer Olympics of 2008. From July to August 2008, the Media in Miami Florida and other areas of the USA were reporting lies and distortions before the beginning of the games. The distortions angered this listener and he decided to respond.

 

He decided to write and actively promote CRI within the area of Miami Florida and other countries. My blogs and other E Magazines were filled with the truth about the People’s Republic of China and CRI English. Whenever a criticism of the People’s Republic of China and CRI English surfaced, he responded with dignity and in a calm manner in order to tell the truth. It was not easy but someone had to do it.

 

After the end of the Beijing Olympics 2008, certain members of the mass media in Miami Florida and other areas of America wanted to go back to their lies. When one of the BBC Correspondents in Beijing China wanted to propagate more lies about the People’s Republic of China and CRI English, I responded with the truth and the suggestion to leave China and CRI English alone.

 

What was the truth written by this listener? I wrote to the BBC Correspondent in Beijing China that the People’s Republic of China should be respected and that there is ONE China. He also wrote about the truth of how CRI English is an objective news source and that it is family oriented when it comes to entertainment. CRI English is proof that there could be entertainment in good taste with news that people could use. He was able to convince many people about the People’s Republic of China and CRI English.

 If presented with the opportunity to do so, I would continue to support the People’s Republic of China and CRI English. I would like to convey my best wishes to the People’s Republic of China and CRI English for a Happy New Year 2009.
