According to a news segment from the US Latin TV Station America Teve, Father Alberto Cutie has been fired from the Miami Herald.
He can no longer write columns in the Miami Herald or El Nuevo Herald in the wake of the scandal that affected his ministry and has left Miami a divided community. The opinions have been divided with people comparing the Catholic Church with Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro and applauding him for his «stand».
Others have stated that he is human and that humans make mistake. There is one opinion that does not deserve to be mentioned since it is in poor taste. The overall opinion has been that «He who is without sin should cast the first stone». Again, this is more like a soap opera since the story appears to continue.
The Miami Herald has judged a person to be guilty without reason. For the Miami Herald, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I can imagine that there have been people who workd in the Miami Herald and either dreamed of or have done the same thing that Father Alberto Cutie did.
