In a sudden twist to the Father Alberto Cutie Scandal that has plagued the US Latin Community, there have been suggestions that the whole thing may have been staged. After the interview of the three paparazzi by Cristina Saralegui during her nightly show on Univision, TV y Novelas which is the rival US Latin Magazine to TV Notas published photos of Ruhamma Cannelis and Lorenzo Gonzalez talking to each other a few days before the scandal.

It has also been revealed in Cristina Saralegui’s Show and in TV y Novelas that Lorenzo Gonzalez and Ruhamma Cannelis [who was the woman photographed with Father Alberto Cutie] had been friends for ten years. It was also revealed that Ms. Cannelis was a Paparazzi as a Part Time Job or hobby.

Juan Garcia Alejandro who is the Director of TV Notas in the USA sent an E Mail to Univision in which he thinks that it is «out of the ordinary that Father Alberto Cutie, Ruhamma Cannelis, and Lorenzo Gonzalez would have known each other and that they were close friends».

At the same time, Juan Manuel Cortes who is the director of TV y Novelas revealed in a gossip show in Univision «El Gordo y La Flaca» that Ms. Cannelis had sent her the following E Mail in which she denies any form of participation in any «pre arrangement» and that she would «never hurt the person» she loves.

If this is an idea of a practical joke, it must have been one in poor taste.

Aside: 

[«El Gordo y La Flaca» is loosely translated to mean The «Obese» Person referring to the host Raul De Molina and the «Petite» Person referring to the other host Lili Estefan [who is also the niece of Emilio Estefan [the husband of Gloria Estefan]. The name of the programme may have been an invention of someone who works in Univision TV.The Underwriter would have never approved of such names for a show.
