Best Football [Soccer] Players In Connecticut

Connecticut is known as The Constitution State and as a suburb of New York City. It is also the home to some of the greatest soccer players such as John Ball, Johann Smith, and Nikki Cross.

John Ball was born on the fifth of November 1972 in Newtown, Connecticut. He is a midfielder and defender for the USL First Division team called the Rochester Rhinos. The USL First Division is also known as the United Soccer Leagues First Division and is composed of teams from Canada, Puerto Rico, and The United States of America.

John Ball started his career with Southern Connecticut State University where he helped the team win the NCAA Division II Championship. This occirred during his years as a freshman and senior in this university.

After he finished at Southern Connecticut, he began his professional career with the USL and MLS with teams like the Carolina Dynamos, Staten Island Vipers, Charleston Battery, Chicago Fire, Rochester Rhinos, and the Atlanta Silverback.

His soccer career was characterized by 40 goals within 254 appearances.

Johann Smith is another soccer player from Connecticut who has been part of the glories of soccer from the United States of America. He is currently a forward for the Toronto FC which is an MLS [Major League Soccer] Team. He was born on the twenty fifth of April 1987 in Hartford, Connecticut and started his career during his studies at Watkinson School. He also played for the United States under 20 team and the Oakwood Soccer Club before being discovered by the Bolton Wanderers Scouts.

During his period with the Wanderers, he was the substitute during their games against the Tottenham Hotspurs and Charlton Athletic in the 2006-2007 season. He was also placed on loan with the teams Carlisle United, Darlington, and Stockport County. In the year 2008, he signed with the Toronto FC.

While he was with the United States Under 20 Soccer Team, he managed to score 4 goals within five appearances. During his professional career, he scored one goal within thirty three appearances. While the records do not appear to be impressive, his periods as substitutes have helped Bolton in its victory over Charlton Athletic in the Carlton Cup of 2006.

Nikki Cross is one of the rising stars in Women’s Soccer who graduated from the University of Connecticut. During her career with the Huskies, she played a total of 92 games with eight assists and thirteen goals. She has already begun her season with the St. Louis Athletica. She appears at the present time to be destined for one of the greatest professional careers in Women’s Soccer.
