While the Governor of South Carolina has a lot of explaining to do about his mysterious disappearance, the plot thickens with the Alberto Cutie story. It appears that Alberto Cutie has appointed as an official spokesperson the famous Puerto Rican Soap Opera Actor Osvaldo Rios.

While Mr. Rios is famous for his soap operas such as «Cassandra» and an update version of «Zorro», he is already becoming well versed in his position as the spokesperson for the disgraced former Catholic priest. Of course, there is some doubt as to how long will the job as spokesperson last.

Elizabeth Hernandez who is the President of I-magen Entertainment and is the spokesperson for Osvaldo Rios has declared that Mr. Cutie asked Mr. Rios to read one letter. In the letter, Mr. Cutie criticized the media for «inventing lies and making false accusations» against him.

The letter further accused the media of «not calling him [Cutie], inventing more lies about an illegitmate child, sexual orientation, and false stories».

The letter written by Mr Cutie and revealed my Mr. Rios further stated that since «the media and others are in dire economic straits, it is easy for them [the media] to pay people to invent statements while the media publishes for the sake of money».

The response of the media in Miami Florida especially the underwriter is one of indignation at the false accusations against us for exercising our right to free speech and free press. The underwriter has decided to respond to the letter which was written by Mr. Cutie and read by Mr. Rios.

The response is based on his sense of press freedom and solidarity with fellow writers and citizen journalists around the world.

John Paul II during his visit to Cuba in 1998 told the people that they were «masters of their own destinies». The same quote applies to Alberto Cutie and company. Father Alberto Cutie has become part of the public domain since he was discovered by a TV Station to become «Father Oprah».

Unless proven otherwise, no one forced Mr. Alberto Cutie to go romping around Miami Beach with his girl friend Ruhamma Cannelis and have photos and films taken. He and Ms. Cannelis chose to do this on their own free will.

No one forced Cutie and Ruhamma Cannelis to do various forms of romantic affect. They chose to do this. He was doing these things while hosting a radio and TV programme in various Catholic Channels and or when playing the part of a moral spiritual guide in a reality TV show broadcast by the US Latin TV Station Telemundo.

Cutie violated the corporate culture of his work place. If a person works in a place, he or she has to conform to the corporate culture or turn in their resignation. Whether the Catholic Church abolishes celibacy in the future is another subject but at the present time, rules are rules.

The people who took the phots and films had to think many times before making them public. Many even went to confession thinking they have «betrayed an innocent man». In order to be true to ourselves and our professions, we have attempted to interview Mr. Cutie, Ms. Cannelis, and others without success.

The underwriter even attempted to contact The Church of The Resurrection which is an Episcopal Church where Alberto Cutie will be celebrating his services. The attempts were unsuccessful. There were people in the press who left messages on Mr. Cutie’s Mobile Phone or on his E Mail and the response was silence.

The reason was to find the truth behind what has ocurred. In spite of the non response of the protagonists, people covering this never ending soap opera made their investigations and obtained permission to share references when the truth has been revealed and published.

The part about «receiving payment» is another lie. No one is receiving payment for writing about this scandal. Our only purpose and compensation is seeking the truth without interference from those who will do everything to silence the press.

The scandal has the making of a soap opera that has the word putrid written all over it. There are better stories than the Alberto Cutie scandal such as the lack of freedom in Venezuela, Cuba, and Zimbabwe.

There are other stories such as the lack of faith in the governing political parties of the USA. The only reason why this soap opera receives publicity is because of the desire of certain people to silence the press when they seek the truth and the desire of the public to be informed of this nasty scandal.
