The Olympics has brought to China especially Beijing one important change. The important change is that China including Beijing were able to host an Olympic Game and prove to the world that sports and politics can be separated. The people of the world were able to appreciate a China that is a great power in sports with their belief in friendship through sports.

I have always had a view of China that is based on the truth ever since I first heard CRI in 1970 [at that time Radio Peking]. The People’s Republic of China is a country where there is peaceful coexistence and where the people treat each other with respect. My views of CRI, CCTV, and Xinhua are the same.

The People’s Republic of China, CRI, CCTV, and Xinhua have treated me like family especially during my visit as one of the winners of the Olympic Knowledge Contest in 2008. I will never forget the great reception and treatment from my extended family and second country. In other words, the legacy has been written in the official song of the 2008 Beijing Olympics «Forever Friends».
