The story of Juanes concert just took another turn when Guatemalan Singer Songwriter Ricardo Arjona accused Juanes of plagiarizing his Cuba concert. The news of Arjona VS Juanes was just released by Univision in their webpage and in an interview with the Spanish Magazine El Mundo [The World].

Ricardo Arjona who is famous for many songs including one titled: «Desnuda» [Naked] declared that he planned to do a concert for peace without politics in Cuba in January 25, 2010 in the Malecon [a famous walk way in La Habana next to the sea].

Mr. Arjona stated that he did not meet with anyone from the US or the mass media. He did establish contact with the Ministry of Culture in Cuba and placed as a condition for his concert that he sings all of his songs including the ones which talk about the leaders of Cuba.

He declared that he started preparing for his concert eight months ago [December 2008] while the people who worked with Juanes «found out about the proposals and started making plans and receiving approval as far back as March 2009.

Regardless, the end result was that Ricardo Arjona cancelled his concert in order to «avoid being part of the «media frenzy» surrounding Juanes concert». He also stated that the concert by Juanes was more important than the «media frenzy».

The whole thing has become a soap opera by people who live off of gossips and soap opera. Please allow Juanes to perfom in Cuba if he wants to. Thank You.
