Giovani Dos Santos: His Life and Career

Giovani Dos Santos is the son of Gerardo Dos Santos, the Brazilian Football/Soccer Player who played for the Mexican Football/Soccer Clubs Club Leon and Club America. He is a midfielder and a striker for the Tottenham Hotspurs. It appears that football/soccer is in the genes of the Dos Santos family since his brother Eder Dos Santos is a defensive midfielder for Club America. Jonathan [who is his other brother] plays for FC Barcelona.

Dos Santos was born on the 11th of May 1989 in Nuevo Leon, Monterrey, Mexico. He started his career as a youth playing for Monterrey and FC Barcelona before signing as a professional with the latter. He earned the Adidas Silver Bell for his efforts in favour of the Mexican National during the 2005 FIFA U-17 [Under 17] World Championship.

Dos Santos is the recipient of the Adidas Bronze Ball for his role in helping Mexico win victories against Congo [Brazzaville] and Gambia during the 2007 FIFA U-20 [Under 20] World Championship. His career with FC Barcelona was characterized with victories against Real Murcia, Club Atletico Bilbao, AGF Aarhus, and Olympique Lyonnais.

He signed with the Tottenham Hotspurswhose nicknames are the Spurs. During his time with the team, he participated in its victory against Norwich City as an attacking midfielder. He also scored four goals in eight appearances. He also scored his first goal against Shakhtar Donetsk for the Spurs.

It was also during this period that the Spurs lent him to Ipswich Town during the 2008-2009 English League Season. It appears that while Dos Santos has been attempting to do his best, the Spurs have not appreciated him nor have taken into consideration his injuries. The Daily Maileven linked Dos Santos for a possible transfer to the Spanish Team Club Deportivo La Coruna.

Jose Mourinho [who is currently the boss of Inter Milan and former boss of Chelsea] has expressed an interest in Dos Santos. The underwriter does not agree with The Daily Mail when they called Dos Santos «a flop». It appears that the Daily Mail does not know what they are talking about in sports and do not take into account that he is starting his career.

Giovani Dos Santos was able to accomplish the following in such a short career with seventeen matches played, thirteen wins, one draw, three losses, three goals for, and one yellow card. It appears that the world of football/soccer will be seeing more of Dos Santos after his participation in the victory of Mexico over the USA in the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the FIFA 2010 World Cup Qualifier.

He is the recipient of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup Most Valuable Player of The Year for 2009 for his efforts in football/soccer.

His romance or rumors of one with the Mexican Soap Opera Actress Belinda has captured the attention of the tabloids in Latin America and the US Latin Community.
