Algeria 1-0 Egypt
The nation of Sudan played host to the bitter rivalry in World Cup history between Algeria and Egypt. It appeared that both teams were competing for domination but Antar Yahia scored a goal for Algeria within 39 minutes of the game with a free kick in the air and past the goalkeeper.
The ball reached the underside within the bar. Egypt attempted to recover but the beginning goalkeeper for Algeria Fawzi Chaouchi blocked all of the attempts by the Pharoahs [Egypt’s National Team].
In the end, Algeria was able to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This was the first time in 24 years that Algeria classified.
This is the first time since 1994 that Greece has qualified for the World Cup.
