During the 2010 World Cup Draw, the absence of Diego Armando Maradona was evident but FIFA continued the draw without him. While the underwriter thinks that Maradona deserves stricter punishment under the FIFA Articles numbers 57 and 58, it was refreshing not to see him in South Africa.

In fact, the former player/celebrity turned coach has become a disgrace to football especially in his country. His behaviour went beyond the limits of civilized discourse. He would have probably crashed the party and the World Cup Draw with his outrageous remarks and antics. The coaching skills of Maradona leaves much to be desired. It is a pity that Messi may have to play under his supervision.

It should be remembered that Maradona once considered Messi as his heir only to change his mind and speak ill of him. Maradona is a parody of what he could have been. His insults and delusions of grandeur have no place in a sport that deserves better. It is the hope of the underwriter that Argentina would one day declare Maradona redundant and send him to his house so he could write his memoirs.
