It appears that football [soccer] history will be in the making with Everton signing Landon Donovan. Everton will acquire one of the leading goalscorers in the USA whose current record is 42 goals within 120 appearances.

Donovan and Everton will benefit on a mutual basis with this deal. Donovan will want to maintain himself true to form in preparation for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It can be done during the football [soccer] season in England.

Everton will also have a player that can assist with the FA Cup, Premier League, and Europa League. The team will also have a player that can assist with a team that has suffered many injuries in the past.
