Fulham faced FC Basel from Switzerland and finished second place in Group E behind Roma by two points and ahead of Basel by the same amount. The victory that assured Fulham of a place in the Europa League.

The victory was made possible when Clint Dempsey of the USA entered the game at 70 minutes. Fulham was ahead by a 2 to 1 lead when Dempsey passed the ball to Kelly who in turn passed it to Zoltan Gera to score a goal. Fulham was ahead by 3 points when Marco Stellar scored the second goal within the last few minutes of the game.
