While Argentina is recovering from its recent defeat before the Catalonian Team in a friendly, the conclusion is that Maradona is beginning to feel the agony of defeat and humilliation. In addition to being forced to watch the games on the sidelines, FIFA has also prohibited Maradona from participating in any photo sessions with the coach of the Catalonian Football [Soccer] team Cruyff.
The prohibition by FIFA is part of the punishment for Maradona for his endless tirades against opponents in a press conference in which he insulted everybody. It is also great to watch a person like Maradona feel the pain of his punishment although it is doubtful he will have learned anything.
The news is not limited to what happened in Catalonia. The team is facing internal strife as the Director General of the Argentine National Football [Soccer] Team Carlos Bilardo accused his assistant Alejandro Mancuso of creating divisions between Bilardo and Maradona. Mancuso responded by accusing Bilardo of the divisions in a way that sounds like a soap opera.
It appears that the Argentine National Football [Soccer] Team is more divided than ever with Maradona at the helm. The team which will be facing Nigeria, Greece, and the Republic of Korea [South Korea] in Group B is not the same team that played in the 1978 World Cup. The team has also deteriorated under the leadership of Maradona.
It is not surprising that this has happened especially for a team that has placed its trust in an individual who has allowed his ego to interfere in its everyday function. It is a crime that Argentina has arrived at this sorry state.
It is also hoped that Argentina learns a lesson and declare Maradona redundant should Argentina continue to lose badly and if the internal conflicts continue. In closing, the underwriter would like to congratulate FIFA for upholding the ban on the games and the photography sessions against Maradona.
