The USA lost again in a friendly match against Honduras in their own home base in California. The agony of defeat is the worst thing that can happen to any team. Honduras appeared to have scored again and again with Pavon scoring at 19 minutes.
Honduras scored again with Palacios scoring at 37 minutes while Espinoza scored at 53 minutes. The USA was able to score once with Goodson at 70 minutes but the question is what happened and what could have been avoided.
Pavon was able to score with a penalty which left Conrad receiving a red card. Conrad unjustly received the expulsion and there was little proof that he used physical force in the game. Honduras used force and one of the players actually kicked Bornstein in the face.
It was a game in which the referees may have looked the other way when there were offenses committed by Honduras. The underwriter also looked at the other aspect of the game. The US Football [Soccer] team did not learn its lesson from its defeat in Denmark.
The field was wide open with no players which could have left the USA with many advantages to score a goal. Unfortunately, the USA did not pay attention. The USA has to organize itself in the next friendlies against El Salvador and Holland if they want to leave an impression in the 2010 World Cup.
The fear is that it may not happen. It is hoped that the underwriter can be proved wrong.
