Salvador Caba~nas: An Analysis

The world of football America League [soccer] as well as other sports suffered the aftershocks of the shooting of Salvador Caba~nas. Salvador Caba~nas is the Paraguayan Football Striker who was playing for Club America [Mexican First Division] when he was shot in the head at the Bar Bar. The Bar Bar was the place in Mexico where the rich and famous went to see and be seen. The crime committed against Salvador Caba~nas is unpardonable and it appeared that what happened may have been foul play. He was shot in the frontal area of the head and the bullet remained lodged in the occipital lobe. Mr. Caba~nas was taken to the nearby hospital where it was decided that there will be no attempt to remove the bullet.

Salvador Caba~nas remained stable but in critical condition during his hospitalization although the prognosis for a victim of a gunshot wound to the head is grave. While the crime committed against Salvador Caba~nas was unpardonable, filming a video of him after he was shot and transmitting it via You Tube is also unpardonable and in poor taste.

The Attorney General initiated an investigation which revealed videos from the Bar Bar. The video showed Caba~nas talking with the bar owner. The video also showed Caba~nas being followed by two suspects towards the rest room. One of the assailants started a conversation with a female patron and both entered their respective rest rooms after Caba~nas entered.

The shots were heard and the two assailants left the crime scene with the help of the security guards of the Bar Bar. The Attorney General announced that his office was interrogating Carlos Cazares Oca~na [the Bar Bar Manager] and the Security Guards [Heriberto Gonzalez and Eduardo Lopez].

Salvador Caba~nas has been receiving visitors from his family, members of the Paraguayan National Football [Soccer] Team, and Club . Alfonso Diaz [who is the chief medical officer for Club America] said that the «fate of Caba~nas is in God’s hand». Michel Bauer [who is the President of Club America] opened Estadio Azteca [the home of Club America] to the public as a sign of support.

Michel Bauer also announced that the upcoming Mexican Bicentennial 2010 Tournament between Los Indios de Ciudad Juarez and Club America will continue on the 31st of January 2010. The purpose is to express solidarity with Salvador Caba~nas and his family during their hour of need.

Salvador Caba~nas was born in Asuncion, Paraguay in the year 1980 and started to show an interest in football [soccer] at an early age. He started his career with the 12 de Octubre Football Club before continuing with Guarani, Audax Italiano, Jaguares, and Club America. During his career, he scored 172 goals within 319 appearances.

He also played for the Paraguayan National Football [Soccer] Team and scored 10 goals within 44 appearances. He was the top scorer for the Chilean Football , Mexican First League, and the Copa Libertadores for 2007 and 2008. He was also the Paraguayan and South American Footballer of the year and recipient of the Balon De Oro.

The English Football Club Sunderland manifested an interest in Caba~nas when he was shot. The question is how the life and career of Caba~nas would have continued had he not visited the Bar Bar. The world may never know the answer.
