In a sudden turn of events, Salvador Cabanas has appeared to recover the power of speaking.According to his surgeon, [Dr. Martinez] he was able to speak with a visitor [Chucho Ramirez] as well as members of his family.

He spoke in the Guarani Language that is one of the official languages of Paraguay. The surgeon cautioned that while he recovered the art of speaking, he is still «within the dnager zone». It is hoped that Salvador Cabanas can recover enough to be with his family.

On the 31st of January 2010 in the afternoon, Club America will be playing against los Indios of Ciudad Juarez in a game which will be dedicated to Salvador Cabanas.
