Lynard Skynard With God And Guns

Lynard Skynard is a formidable rock band that recorded their latest album «God and Guns» and released it in September 2009. The songs in the album are first class along with the verses in the album. The album reflects on an America that appears to have lost its sense of direction.

The two memorable songs in the album are «God and Guns» and «That Ain»t My America» since they really cut into the issue on what has happened in America. The song «God and Guns deals with the attempts of politicians in Washington to remove God from the fabric of American Life as well as violate the Second Amendment on the right to bear arms.

The song «God and Guns» talks about how the Supreme Court prohibited the right of children to pray to God or even mention his name in school. The excuse made by the politicians have been based on the separation of church and state. The song even goers further to talk about attempts by the politicians to remove God from American Life.

The song ends with the sentence that says that when the politicians remove «God and Guns» from American life, we are at a big problem since we cannot defend ourselves. The moral of the song according to the underwriter is that at times a true patriot may have to struggle against the enemy within as well as the external enemy in order to defend the freedoms that we have while they still exist.

The song «That Ain»t My America» talks about more of the problems of society such as why justice has become blind and why people are not allowed to enjoy life. The song continues to talk about how they saw an elderly person thank a young veteran at an airport in Dallas, Texas.

«That Ain»t My America» talk about the attempts of the politicians to «knock Uncle Sam» and the determination to not allow it to happen. The song continues talking about what is happening today in America is unrelated to the roots of the country. It also comments on the rights of American Citizens to hold a «Bible and a Gun» without fear, children prohibited from praying, and «100 Dollars of Gasoline».

The album as well as the songs appear to be a wake up call for those who love America. The melody and the music is also great. For this reason, the album deserves a one hundred percent.
