Donovan VS Malaria

Landon Donovan [US Soccer, the LA Galaxy, and the Everton FC] has united his voice in the crusade against Malaria with a commercial. The commercial [which appeared in ESPN and Univision] shows Donovan talking about the causes, modes of transmission, and prevention of malaria.

While there have been no or few cases of malaria reported in Europe and North America, there are cases elsewhere. In Africa, malaria kills a child every 30 seconds while 180 people could be cured or prevented from having malaria in the 90 minutes duration of a football game.

The commercial also placed emphasis on the use of mosquito nets during the night. Kolo Toure [Ivory Coast and Manchester City] has participated in a separate commercial with Charles Ssali of Uganda [Youth Ambassador to United Against Malaria].
