One of the reporters from America Teve received a phone call from the famiy of one of the dissidents in Cuba about a similar demonstration in Havana, Cuba by the Damas De Blanco.

I was present and took these photos for Now Public and was able to see Telemundo 51 Reporters Ambrosio Hernandez and Maria Montoya reporting. Camilo Egana was also reporting for Mega TV 22

It was organized and paid for by Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan with their own money as a response to the repression of the Damas De Blanco in Cuba by agents of the Cuban Government.

The people also had enough of the repression and the people who defended it such as Miguel Bose and Calle 13. Calle 13 is the Puerto Rican Reguetton Group that visited Cuba just recently and made political statements.

Gloria Estefan made a speech talking about the virtues of liberty and the need for the people of the world «to decide their fate via the ballot box». During the rally, the Cuban National Anthem as well as the American one was played.

The Mayor of Miami Florida Tomas Regalado also gave a speech in support of the Damas De Blanco and talked about freedom and opportunity while the public brandished flags of different countries and photos of the Damas De Blanco.
