It ocurred when one of the Cruz Azul players tried to score within the right post. The ball rebounded and Chavez kicked it directly to the right side of the goal post in 83 minutes. The score was Cruz Azul 4-0 Pumas UNAM [4-1 on a global scale].
The icing on the cake was the last and fifth goal by Gerardo Lugo for Cruz Azul to the surprise and consternation of Sergio Bernal and the rest of the Pumas UNAM Team. The end of the hopes for Puma UNAM came to a sudden end as Cruz Azul managed to consolidate its hold on the final leg of the CONCACAF Champions League.
