Manchester United is considering new strikers and one of them has already signed with the team from Old Trafford. Javier Hernandez
[also known as Chicharito] is a striker for the venerable Mexican Football/Soccer Team Chivas of Guadalajara. He recently signed with Manchester United for an undisclosed amount of money.
The terms of the deal will be that Javier Hernandez will continue with Chivas of Guadalajara for the duration of the 2009-2010 Mexican League Season and the Mexican National Football/Soccer Team during the 2010 World Cup. After the World Cup, Javier Hernandez will start the 2010-2011 Premier League season with Manchester United
.
Manchester United will also face Chivas of Guadalajara in the new Estadio Chivas which will replace the Estadio Jalisco. Manchester United will be first opposing team Mexican or Non Mexican to face Chivas of Guadalajara in the 2010-2011 Season with Javier «Chicharito» Hernandez participating.
In response to doubts about his decision,Javier Hernandez recently defended his position by stating that he is interested in playing for the sake of the game instead of the money. He considers it an honour to be the first Mexican to play for Old Trafford as a striker and thanked Sir Alex Ferguson and other at Old Trafford for placing their trust in him.
Javier Hernandez reminded the people of Mexico as well as those who are from Manchester United about his father and grandfather who were football/soccer players in their own rights. Javier Fernandez Sr. also known as Chicharo was a participant for the Mexican National Football/Soccer Team during the 1986 World Cup held in the same country.
Tomas Bacarzal [who is the grandfather of Javier «Chicharito» Hernandez] participated in the 1954 World Cup for the Mexican National Football/Soccer Team. The news about the signing of Hernandez came as a response to comments about the poor performance of Berbatov during the 2009-2010 Premier League Season for Manchester United.
It remains to be seen what will transpire after the 2010 World Cup ends and the English Premier League Season 2010-2011 starts. I think that Manchester United did the right thing in acquiring the striker from Chivas of Guadalajara. It demonstrates that Manchester United is interested in Latin America and its promising players including strikers.
Javier Hernandez declared that he will do what he can to prove his critics wrong. It is hoped that he maintains true to himself and does not allow himself to be overcome by the celebrity mentality that has affected the majority of the athletes.
