The African Nation of Ghana is another participant of the 2010 FIFA World Cup which will be held in South Africa in the months of June and July 2010. It is in Group D with Germany, Serbia, and Australia. It will not be an easy group to deal with especially when the first two games are against Serbia and Australia.
The current FIFA Coca Cola Ranking has Ghana in 32nd place with 802 points behind Germany in 6th place with 1,107 points, Serbia in 16th place with 944 points, and Australia in 20th place with 883 points.
While Group D is not an easy group, Ghana has many factors that can be used to their advantage. Asamoah Gyan participated in the victory of Ghana over the Czech Republic during the 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany. He scored the very fast goal within 68 seconds with the result being a 2-1 victory for Ghana.
Ghana also defeated the USA during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. During the period before the 2010 FIFA World Cup, they have had to struggle in their games against Gabon and Libya. Matthew Amoah was able to show the team the way by defeating Mali and Sudan in the African Qualifiers.
Matthew Amoah is the top scorer with 20 goals scored and 591 minutes played of all of the players in the National Football/Soccer Team of Ghana.
Ghana can also boast players such as Michael Essien and Kevin Prince Boateng who could help their team win victories if they are included in the roster of players going to South Africa.
Michael Essien has the following in his career: 35 matches played with 23 wins, 6 draws, 6 losses, 5 goals for and 9 yellow cards. Kevin Prince Boateng also had a remarkable career in football/soccer.
The team 8 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses, 20 goals for, 8 goals against, and seventeen yellow cards.
Ghana has won the title of the CAF Africa Cup Of Nations in 1963, 1965, 1978, and 1982. They were the host of the 2008 CAF Africa Cup Of Nations in 2008 but the duo of suspension and injury took a toll on the team and ended their chances for the championships.
Ghana also has the advantage of crowd power since the people of Africa and the diaspora are hoping for an African victory in the 2010 FIFA World Cup which will be held in an African country called South Africa.
In Miami, Florida, the underwriter was able to appreciate people wearing clothes supporting the Ghanaian National Football/Soccer Team. Regardless of what will transpire, Ghana will continue to dominate football/soccer.
