The United States of America and England will be facing each other in the first game of Group C of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa. The date of the encounter will be on the twelfth of June 2010.
The initial encounter between the USA and England is going to be more important than the encounters with other Group C members such as Algeria and Slovenia. The reason is the rivalry between the two teams.
The last time there was an encounter between the two teams occurred during the 1950 FIFA World Cup in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The result was an upset by the United States of America against England.
England has the advantage of many years of experience in the FIFA World Cup and was even the host of the 1966 FIFA World Cup. England is also a disciplined team which was trained by the coach Fabio Capello. Fabio Capello is also under tremendous pressure in order to produce results such as a victory in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The reports about the poor form and injuries of players such as Steve Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, and John Terry have been in the mind of Fabio Capello. The declarations by Steve Gerrard have not helped the situation for England.
Steve Gerrard of the English National Football/Soccer Team has urged fellow players to give their best since most of the team members are past the age of 30. The magic number [according to Mr. Gerrard] means that it may be the last chance for the majority of the players such as Frank Lampard or Rio Ferdinand to win a World Cup.
The US Soccer Team may have been enjoying a revival since the 1990’s but they cannot be underestimated. Sir Alex Ferguson [who is the the boss of the English League Team Manchester United] has predicted that the US Soccer Team may advance to the second round.
The US Soccer Team has advanced in the 2009 FIFA Confederation Cup in South Africa. It defeated Spain and Egypt to advance to second place. The team won first place in the CONCACAF Qualifiers to advance to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Ricardo Clark and Jozy Altidore of the US Soccer Team have declared in their interview with the FIFA Website that the team is ready. Ricardo Clark stated that the USA has been handed an easy team but such teams do not exist.
Jozy Altidore has gone a step further by telling David Beckham of England that the US Soccer Team will defeat England in the opening game three to zero. While the underwriter is tempted to think that it is posturing, there is a grain of truth to the prediction taking into account a team that is organized, disciplined, and consistent in its play.

Most of the side has or does play in the English Premiership and know their opposition like the back of their hands, this is a factor again I believe the bookies are under estimating when I saw the pricing of this game.
England are a classy side but given how organised America are and the lack of fear they have towards England, we could see another famous result for the US.
However come the end of the game I believe that it will be Capello’s side will just have too much as the English depart Rustenburg with a small marginal victory very likely.

I wonder who will be in charge of England for the next World Cup. I like Harry Redknapp but he’s building something at Spurs and I think he likes the side and squad he has assembled and is assembling. I hope the international side gets shaken up and the likes of Walcott and John Terry are dropped.
