Nani who is the winger for the Portuguese National Football/Soccer Team has been ruled unfit to participate in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The reason is an injury to the collar bone during a practice session in Portugal before going to South Africa.

The news comes after the injuries of Drogba of the Ivory Coast and Ferdinand of England leaves their future in the World Cup in doubt. The news comes at a difficult time for a player who managed to score three goals within eleven appearances during the qualification stage for Portugal.

The defender for Portugal Pepe also has some injury concerns since he is recovering from a knee injury that occurred on December 2009.

Portugal is in Group G with Brazil, Ivory Coast, and North Korea with its first match against the Ivory Coast on June 15th 2010. It appears that Group G will end with Brazil being the front runner with Portugal and the Ivory Coast barely is making it to second place.
