The Land of the Rising Star is famous for its surprises that have delighted the world such as electronics including Toshiba, Sony, and National Panasonic. It has also been one of the centers of creativity in all spheres of life.

Japanmade history on June 14, 2010 when it faced the Indominable Lions of Cameroon in the Bloemfontein’s Stadium in South Africa. The game was expected to be in favor of Cameroon taking into account its many victories in previous World Cups and other events such as the Africa Cup of Nations.

Japan was not expected to win since it had not won any games in the World Cup outside of its borders. The world was in for a shock especially the Cuban Restaurant in Jackson Towers in Miami Florida.

The people were stunned when Dalsuke Matsui did a cross loop which went to Keisuke Honda and surprising Stephane Mbia. Mr. Honda proceeded to kick the ball within the back post of the goal post to score for his country.

The restaurant patrons opened their mouths and stared in disbelief. There was a Camerroonian National who was watching the game and had to concede that Japan was playing a great game.

After a game of historic proportions, it remains to be seen whether Japan can go further within the FIFA World Cup. Japan has come a long way like the USA in soccer. The rest is yet to come.
