The US Soccer Team faced Slovenia in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. What was predicted as an easy game for the USA a few months ago was the opposite. Slovenia entered the match with one game won after defeating Algeria. The USA entered after a draw against England.
The first half appeared to belong to Slovenia while the Americans were struggling in response to the goals of Birsa y Ljubijankic. The supporters of the US Soccer Team were worried that Slovenia was going to win the entire game hands down. The half time was a period of jagged nerves.
The second half belonged to the US Soccer Team as they appeared to rise up from the ashes like the Phoenix Bird. Donovan and Bradley scored their goals and the game was equalized. It appeared that with Edu scoring the third goal that the USA would win the game.
It was not to be since a referee by the name of Koulibaly nullified the goal scored by Edu. This constitutes fraud in the worst sense. It is wandered how FIFA allows such behaviour from their referees. Regardless, the USA appears to be on its way to classifying towards the next round after England and Algeria remained scoreless in their match.
