FIFA To Investigate Nigeria

FIFA has announced that it will investigate Nigeria in response to the decision by its government to prohibit its national team from international competition for two years.

It will also investigate the decision by the Nigerian Government to disband the national football association in that African Country.

Whether the government of Nigeria could care less, FIFA has strict laws concerning the interference of government in the affairs of football associations.

FIFA is also investigating France for its decision to investigate the FFF or French Football Federation. In the past, FIFA has banned countries from International Competitions secondary to government interference.

The two recent examples of countries feeling the heat from being banned were Iraq and El Salvador.

I personally applaud the decision of FIFA to investigate Nigeria and France. It is hoped that it will not arrive at the point that Nigeria is banned but rules are rules.

If the President of Nigeria wants to ban his country’s team from international competition for two years, FIFA can ban his country from International Football with the only losers being the football players in the West African Country.
