The USA faced Brazil in their first encounter since the FIFA Confederation Cup in 2009 and less than a month after the end of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Brazil scored two times against the United States in front of more than 60,000 spectators at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The first goal was scored by Neyman when he used his head to deflect the ball towards the left side of the goal post. Howard was the goalie for the USA who attempted to block it without success.
The second goal was scored by Pato at the end of the first half after so many attempts. One of the attempts included a goal that was nullified because the ball barely entered the post.
While Brazil and the USA were presenting an exciting game, it was clear that Brazil dominated the game from the beginning to the end. Brazil was energetic, consistent, and its players passed the ball to each other with ease.
Both teams attempted substitutions in an attempt to affect the outcome of the game. The results were still the same with Brazil dominating and the USA attempting to defend itself.
While Brazil has won most of its games against the USA and was in possession, it appeared that the team at time would rest on its laurels. The USA has to rethink its strategy if it wants to classify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup or even host one.
Regardless, the game is just the beginning for another cycle leading to the 2014 World Cup
