Cruz Azul 4-1 Pachuca In Mexican League

Cruz Azul defeated Pachuca 4-1 in an important Mexican League game which helped the team make a comeback.Javier Chuletta Orozco scored the two winning goals within 7 and 51 minutes.

Emanuel Villa scored another goal for Cruz Azul in 42 minutes. Pachuca’s own Raul Ascencion Martinez scored an own goal for the team in 60 minutes.

Orozco’s first goal was the result of a corner kick which left the goalie for Pachuca Miguel Calero surprised and gasping for air.

His second goal within 51 minutes was the result of a pass between Emanuel Villa and Orozco with Villa receiving the final ball and kicking it in the center.

Miguel Calero had attempted to block that ball but it crossed into the goal line and into the back of the net.

Emanuel Villa did another cross kick at 42 minutes which left Calero feeling irritated and with the attitude that «today was not my day».

Cruz Azul received a surprise when Pachuca’s own Raul Ascension Martinez was using his head the wrong way and did an own goal within 60 minutes.

Calero was fuming mad at Martinez but the damage was done.

Pachuca was able to score one goal when Pajaro Benitez took advantage of one minute of a lapse in Cruz Azul to score directly into the goal post. The game proves that Pachuca played poorly.

Edgar Pajaro Benitez(who plays for Pachuca) admits that the team is going backwards instead of forward in its method of playing. He insisted that Pachuca is suffering from lack of coordination and imagination in its play.

Cruz Azul was in total domination of this match with its distribution of the ball between the players as well as the attitude. Even though the victory was a cause for celebration, Enrique Meza who is the coach of the team was not satisfied.

Mr. Meza declared that there were some lapses in the plays that Pachuca could have used to their advantage. Even though Cruz Azul found some equilibrium in their plays, there were times when the ball was abandoned.

Mr. Meza also talked about the lapse in the goal post that allowed Pachuca to score one goal. He was probably thinking about the defeat of Cruz Azul to the Pumas.

Maybe, he was thinking about Cruz Azul for the Mexican League as well as the CONCACAF Champions League.

I am in agreement with Mr. Meza that Cruz Azul must continue to be on the defensive and offensive in future games if it wants to remain a contender.

I also agree with Benitez of Pachuca that the team has to find a way out of its disastrous form of playing football/soccer.

Armando Archundia was the referee for this game and he deserves to be praised for his fairness.
