Juan de Dios Castillo also known as El Cuate was installed as temporary coach of the Honduran Nattional Football/Soccer Team. He replaces Reinaldo Rueda who turned in his resignation on July 28, 2010.
He will be in charge until January of 2011 and will be assisted by Reinaldo Clavasquin of Honduras, Francisco Solis, and Sergio Pacheco. The latter two are native of Mexico.
Mr. Castillo will have his hands full with the first game under his leadership being against El Salvador on September 3, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.
He will call on the players from the Honduran National Team and have them practice for the upcoming game next week.
The new coach will also prepare the team for the CONCACAF Central American Championship which will occur before the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Juan De Dios Castillo is serious about Honduras advancing in the CONCACAF and is aware that the Central American country classified two times for the World Cup in 1982 and 2010.
He promises that there will be the best players from Honduras that will take the country to the 2014 World Cup. The only price he asks is cooperation of the entrire society as a whole.
I have faith that Honduras will rise above the challenge.
