The Estudiantes de Tecos management has just informed Miguel Herrera alias El Piojo that he has just been fired as coach. The news comes as the management lost patience with a coach that recently lost to Chivas of Guadalajara.
Mr. Herrera will be replaced on a temporary basis by Luis Manuel DIaz. Mr. Diaz will serve until, arrangements can be made for a new coach to face the next team in the Mexican League which will be Atlante.
Mr. Herrera was coach of the Estudiantes de Tecos from 2008 to 2010. While he has had an impressive record, his current 2010-2011 resulted in one win, four losses, and one draw.
The newly fired coach of Estudiantes de Tecos did not take his job loss lightly as he allowed himself to be interviewed by Notimex.
In the interview, he defended his time as coach of Estudiantes de Tecos citing an improvement in the economic fortunes of the team as well as bringing the best players to the team.
Mr. Herrera declared that he was unable to predict that his stint with Estudiantes de Tecos would end up with his expulsion as coach.
He further went on to say that he calm since he gave everything to the maximum.
He ended the interview by not commenting what his future will be but that there will be other opportunities in the future.
I agree with him since at the present time teams come and go for coaches and players.
