The home team won the game with two goals from Jesus De Nigris and William Paredes.
Jesus De Nigris scored the first goal within 23 minutes after Claudio Cardozo of Marathon failed in his free kick attempt. Jesus Arellano received the ball who then passed it to Jesus De Nigris who kicked it to the left side of the goal net with his right foot.
William Paredes scored the second goal for Monterrey when I. Crisanto of Marathon fouled the ball. Paredes took advantage of a free kick and scored the goal with a direct kick into the goal net.
Monterrey was dominant in the game with the home town advantage and its impressive organization when it comes to games. The team showed itself as disciplined and consistent as they passed the ball among each other while Marathon was unable to produce results.
