The latest soap opera saga of El Tri or the Mexican National Soccer Team appears to continue. Andres Guardado sustained an injury to his left thigh during practice.
Guardado was one of the signers of the petition declaring himself not willing to play if called by the national team unless De La Toree resigns as Director of National Selection.
While people may consider that the lesion may have been an invention, I was able to see some of the films. He was practicing when he suddenly felt pain in the left thigh and was unable to continue.
Guardado was escorted off the field and is being subjected to tests to see whether or not he can return. It is doubtful that he will play in El Tri’s game against Venezuela in the Estadio Benito Juarez in Ciudad Juarez in Mexico.
The people of Ciudad Juarez did not think of the brewing soap opera that is happening with the Mexican National Soccer Team. It appeared that they want to enjoy a game and have time from the daily tensions of being one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
The people applauded the presence of Andres Guardado, Javier (Chicharito) Hernandez, Guillermo Ochoa, and Rafael Marquez. Hernandez received the most applause since he is now playing for Manchester United.
It appears that El Tri may have its hands full in the game against Venezuela although Hernandez may help ease some of the burden left by Guardado’s injury.
